I’m a lucky girl.   I get to photograph the coolest things.  I mean – a book launch?   Photographing a book launch??   How fun is THAT?

Mark is the Lead Pastor of Village Church , pastoring thousands of Vancouverites on a weekly basis.   He is a family man, with his wife Erin + their three daughters being a huge priority for him.   He travels, he speaks, he inspires.  So what does a man like this do in his “spare” time?

Why.   He writes a book.

And then?  It LAUNCHES.  And this night … it was all about ‘The Problem Of God”.

As the guests arrived, I asked them to pose with Mark’s book — it didn’t take long for my brain to hurt from trying to come up with “new” ideas lol …

… but Mark’s guests were super obliging …

… and super fun.

As the guests gathered, the sound of laughter and friendship was everywhere …

Then Erin + Mark took a few minutes to talk about the launch and to thank all of the people who had supported them during this journey.

Mark, Erin … it was such an honour to be included on this momentous occasion.   I pray that these images will remind you of all the love and support that you have as you continue to plow through the endless new territory that God continues to call you to.   Love you guys. xx

SURGERY UPDATE ::   I am no longer taking clients due to my hand surgery date of October 6th.   I am SO disappointed to not be doing Fall Sessions this year – but it’s not just taking the photos, it’s the editing time — and I would hate to take photos that couldn’t be completed in time for Christmas cards etc.   I hope that you’ll be ready for SPRING MINI SESSIONS.   Because, I know that I will be!!   xx

The Philipchalk Family … love them.

Do I need to say more?

Yes.   I guess I do …

Tracy had contacted me, saying “it’s time” to get family pics done again.   So we met a few blocks away from their home in Fort Langley.   And I had a goal — to make this a quick session in the summer heat.   And for the men in the family lol.

But as you’ll see – it was inevitable that this would be an EASY session … my camera loves these faces.

Meet Jalen … so lovely.

… and Avery.   Beautiful.

… oh hey, Matt.   Nice of you to join us LOL.

… and JAMES.   Oh man …. what a cutie.

And …. Matt + Tracy.   My friends … and I can tell you, those smiles are LEGIT.    I love them.

… is there more?

OF COURSE … Part 2 is coming up, stay tuned!!

This family should look a little familiar.    I’ve done a number of sessions with Nathan + Kerri … before all three of their children were born; a maternity session; when Eli was born; and when baby Eleanor arrived.

I’ve seen them grow – literally – into the family that they are.

How amazing to be asked to meet them for another session … with little Ezra added to the mix.

Now – this was already proving to be an adventure.  Two little ones – wanting to run and play in the hot sun; and a little guy, hungry and a little unhappy … but that’s real life, right?  I am a MASSIVE believer in keeping things real with photos.  Family pics are not about pretending everything is perfect … it’s about documenting the MOMENT.

I LOVE these photos.

… and look.  We even managed the perfect Christmas card too … LOL

… but it didn’t take long for the running and playing to start over …

… could we get a quick hug in??   Well – this lasted about a millisecond lol … but we got it.

… and then, Nathan and his boys.   Oh my heart.   I LOVE THIS.

I mean … COME ON.

… little Eleanor was still running and playing – so it was a perfect time to catch Kerri with Eli.   Ezra was getting a little upset about his grumbling tummy – so I only had a couple of minutes to snap these …

… “are there more?” you ask.

OF COURSE!!  So much more … stay tuned!!

OK — I know.  This has been CRAZY.  But here’s the FINAL Pacific Academy Grad2017 post …

If you missed them – you can see Part One HERE, and Part Two HERE.

Up next?   The group shots.  This is when I looked at the gang of 18 and said, “ok – here’s your chance … any groups – missions trips, sports teams, best friends — you name it, let’s do it!”

And this is what they came up with …

… the Fiddler on the Roof cast.   That group, I recognized … I saw it twice and LOVED it.

… the other groups, I’m not sure.  I think this was a missions trip … but it doesn’t really matter.  They wanted it – and I snapped it.

I LOVE it when beautiful girls aren’t afraid to be a bit crazy …

Yeah, don’t remember what group this was — but man, I chuckled when I saw it lol.   Such a fun group …

… the guys wanted one too ..

Then, we headed to the lighthouse.  We were LITERALLY running out of time.  So I called my “mom contact” and said, “hey – I’m not finished yet – can I keep going??”  And she said, “oh yes!”.  So that’s what we did … more pics.   Since I snapped the guys on the over pass walkway by their school – it was the girls turn to get their portraits done.  Yes, I know — I also did portraits in the greenery park too – but hey, I wanted to give them more than one backdrop.  And the lighthouse was perfect …

… and what were the guys doing as they waited?   … I’m actually not sure LOL …

… but the girls were on a roll.  So – we got a few more group shots lol …

And then – the clock ran out and things got chaotic when a fellow photographer passed out with another group of students waiting —  and so I just started yelling, “OK guys – this is it – we are out of time.  Any pics you want – we HAVE to do right now!”

lol

They were all feeling way more comfortable now, I think.  And they were all eager to get their last shots in …

…. and that was a WRAP!

GRADS.  THANK YOU!!!   I had so much fun – and it was a whirlwind trying to catch you all with my camera … thank you for making it such a great time and I wish you ALL the very best in your futures!!
